Navtec Fibre Fittings

Navtec have two fiber rigging systems: Kevlar Biconic and PBO Biconic. The fittings on this page are specific to each of these two systems.

Kevlar Biconic Cable

Made from unidirectional Aramid fibers covered in a lightweight polyurethane jacket for UV and abrasion resistance, Navtec’s Kevlar Biconic system is lightweight, flexible, low-stretch, durable, and strong enough to replace rod or wire rigging. Navtec Biconic Kevlar is typically used for backstays, running backstays, and checkstays.

PBO Biconic

Made from unidirectional PBO fibers covered in a lightweight polyurethane jacket for UV and abrasion resistance, Navtec’s PBO Biconic system is lightweight, flexible, extremely low-stretch, and durable. Navtec Biconic PBO can be used anywhere to gain weight savings over rod.

Kevlar Double Jaw Toggle Terminal

Kevlar Double Jaw Toggle Terminal

Offers the highest strength and lowest weight in terminal bodies and reducers. Low-weight, high-strength anodised aluminium bodies are used to mate with high modulus Aramid Fiber Cable. Titanium options are also available. End fittings are made from 316 stainless.
