allspars Phil Ackland is all ready to set off on his epic cycle journey of over 850 miles cycling from John O Groats to Lands End, with a group of 4 other friends.

They are cycling to raise money for both Help the Heroes, and the Rifles Regimented Trust after their friend Sam, a soldier, 20 years old, was killed in Afghanistan on Remembrance Sunday 2009. He was part of 1 Platoon A company, 4^th Battalion The Rifles. He died in hospital following an improvised explosive devise being used in the area of Sangin, Northern Helmand, Afghanistan.

Phil is planning on completing the cycle in 8 days, meaning they have to average over 100 miles per day, starting on 8.00am on Friday 7th May and aiming to Finish at 3.00pm on Saturday 15th May 2010.
